Fair Care.

The quiet, careful goodbye your pet deserves.

Clinical care brings expertise, safety and solutions. At the end of a pet's life, what matters more is comfort, calm and dignity.

We come to you. In your home, on your sofa, in the garden, wherever your pet is most at peace. The whole visit happens at home, in your pet's own time.

Our promise to Portsmouth families is simple: clear standards, honest pricing, and the time and space to say goodbye properly.

  • Clear standards, not vague promises

Every visit follows the same gentle process, delivered by an RCVS-qualified vet.

  • Known steps before, during and after

You know exactly what to expect at every stage, including aftercare and cremation.

  • Honest, transparent pricing

Real prices shown by pet size. No call-out charges and no surprises.

  • Time, space and calm, not pressure

We allow as long as your family needs. This is never rushed.

Covering PO1, PO2, PO3, PO4, PO5, PO6& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Portsmouth and the surrounding area.

Portsmouth is an island city and the dogs we visit have usually walked the same routes for years: Southsea Common and the seafront from Clarence Pier out to Eastney for the homes in Southsea, Eastney and Milton, Victoria Park for the streets around Stamshaw and Buckland, Baffins Pond for the families in Baffins and Copnor, Farlington Marshes for the older retrievers and labradors of Farlington, Drayton and Cosham, Hilsea Lines for the dogs around Hilsea and North End, Canoe Lake for the Eastney and Milton terraces. Cats are usually long-resident garden cats in a Southsea Edwardian terrace or a Copnor semi, in and out the back door for years. By the time someone rings us, putting an elderly pet into the car across the M275 or up the A3 to a mainland clinic is rarely the right last thing. We cover the PO postcodes across the island and the mainland edge: Old Portsmouth, Southsea, Eastney, Milton, Fratton, Buckland, Landport, Stamshaw, North End, Kingston, Hilsea, Copnor, Baffins, Cosham, Drayton, Farlington, Paulsgrove and Wymering. Our vets are RCVS-registered and the visit is unhurried. Sedation is used first so your pet is asleep before anything else. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Hampshire crematorium, private or communal, with ashes returned within 48 hours. The number on this page is our central booking line, answered by a person who will arrange a vet for your home visit in Portsmouth.

2

A vet visits your home

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Portsmouth and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

How long does a vet from your team take to get to Portsmouth?

We work to whatever timescale suits the family rather than to a fixed arrival window. When you phone us, we usually have a vet confirmed for you within around twenty minutes, and then the visit is booked for the time you have asked for, whether that is later the same day, this evening, or a quieter morning slot. If you would like someone as soon as possible, say so on the call and we will tell you the earliest we can be there.

Do you cover Southsea?

Yes, Southsea sits within our Portsmouth cover area and we visit there regularly. If you are right on the edge of where the Portsmouth team reaches, please phone the local number first to confirm. Most postcodes around Portsmouth are covered without a travel surcharge, and we will be straight with you if a different local team would actually get to you faster.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Portsmouth team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
