Sussex stretches from the chalk cliffs at Beachy Head to the harbours of Chichester and the Hampshire border, with the South Downs running the length of it. The homes we visit reflect that range, Regency terraces in Brighton and Hove, semis in Worthing and Bognor, weatherboarded cottages in the Weald villages, Victorian streets in Lewes and Hastings, new builds in Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath. The dogs we see have often walked the Downs, Devil's Dyke, Cuckmere Haven or the Hove seafront for years; the cats are usually long-resident at one address. We cover Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Shoreham, Eastbourne, Hastings, Bexhill, Lewes, Newhaven, Seaford, Chichester, Bognor Regis, Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Uckfield, East Grinstead, Battle and Rye, plus the villages between. Our vets are RCVS-registered. Sedation is used first so your pet is sleeping before anything else happens; the visit is unhurried, typically about an hour at the home. We can hold the appointment in a sitting room, a kitchen, a porch or a corner of the garden. Cremation is arranged through trusted Sussex partners, with private and communal options and ashes returned within 48 hours. Honest, transparent pricing
Fair care means fair pricing. Here is exactly what a home visit costs in Sussex. Out-of-hours covers evenings, nights and early mornings, and any time at weekends or on bank holidays. Only one of these is ever added.
Travel is £25 for the first 15 miles, then £1.60 per mile after that. Any additional mileage is confirmed clearly before you book.
These fees are for the at-home euthanasia appointment only and do not include cremation or aftercare. We can arrange cremation and aftercare for you if you wish, and we will provide a clear quote for those services before you book, so you know the full cost before confirming the appointment.

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.
Most visits across Sussex and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.
Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.
Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£60 each, or £89 combined). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.
Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.
We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.
Cremation is handled through a trusted partner working across the South East, so your pet stays in the local area. The cremation partner collects your pet directly from your home in Sussex after the appointment, and they return the ashes, usually within 48 hours. If you would prefer communal cremation, with no ashes returned, that option is available too. Either way, the choice is yours and we will explain everything before the visit.
Across the BN, RH, TN postcodes we can usually reach a home in Sussex the same day, including Brighton, Hove, Worthing and Eastbourne. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
