Fair Care.

The quiet, careful goodbye your pet deserves.

Clinical care brings expertise, safety and solutions. At the end of a pet's life, what matters more is comfort, calm and dignity.

  • Time, space and calm, not pressure

We allow as long as your family needs. This is never rushed.

Covering SK1, SK2, SK3, SK4, SK5, SK6, SK7& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Stockport and the surrounding area.

Stockport sits where the Mersey forms and the homes we visit climb up the valley sides on every approach: Edwardian terraces in Heaton Moor and Heaton Chapel, semis in Davenport and Edgeley, larger gardens in Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme, the older village heart of Marple Bridge and the stone-fronted streets of Romiley climbing toward Werneth Low. Many of the dogs we are asked to see have walked Vernon Park, Bruntwood Park, Reddish Vale, Etherow Country Park or the Peak Forest Canal towpath toward Marple for years. The cats here are usually long-resident garden cats in the streets behind Stockport Town Hall, or sitting-room cats in a Cheadle bay-window flat. By the time families ring, taking your pet up the A6 or across to the M60 for a clinic visit is rarely the right thing for the last appointment. We cover Stockport itself across SK1 to SK7, including Heaton Moor, Heaton Chapel, Heaton Norris, Reddish, Davenport, Edgeley, Adswood, Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Offerton, Romiley, Marple and Marple Bridge, and we travel out to Compstall and Mellor on the Derbyshire side. Our vets are RCVS-registered. Sedation is used first so your pet is asleep before anything else, and the visit is unhurried. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Greater Manchester crematorium, with private or communal options. The number on this page is the Manchester line, answered by a person who books our local vets for Stockport home visits.

How it works.

Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.

1

Call or message

Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.

2

A vet visits your home

An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Stockport and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Where will my pet be cremated from Stockport?

Cremation is arranged through a trusted North West partner, so your pet stays in the local area. The cremation partner collects your pet directly from your home in Stockport after the appointment, and they return the ashes, usually within 48 hours. If you would prefer communal cremation, with no ashes returned, that option is available too. Either way, the choice is yours and we will explain everything before the visit.

Will the vet visiting Stockport have done this before?

Yes, every vet visiting Stockport is RCVS-qualified and trained for at-home euthanasia, the same gentle process every time. The same gentle process is followed on every visit: introductions and time to settle, a sedative first so your pet drifts into a deep sleep, and only then the final injection. We never rush, and we will explain each step quietly as we go.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Stockport team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
