Local to you, across Manchester and the surrounding area.

Manchester holds on to its neighbourhood character even as the centre keeps changing, and many of the dogs we visit have walked the same Sunday loop around Fletcher Moss or Platt Fields for years. By the time someone rings us about a final visit, almost no one wants the journey for them at that point.

What a visit looks like in Manchester

  • RCVS-qualified vet at your door, often the same morning
  • Sedation first on a familiar bed or blanket; final injection only when your pet is in a deep sleep
  • Cremation arranged with a trusted local partner who collect directly from your home
  • Ashes returned within 48 hours if you choose private cremation

Our vets cover the city across the M postcodes and reach the inner suburbs of Chorlton, Didsbury and Whalley Range, with same-day visits usually possible across Salford, Trafford, Sale and Altrincham. Stockport, Bolton and Bury have their own local teams and numbers; if one of those would actually reach you faster, the handler will say so on the call. Sedation is given first, on a familiar blanket, so your pet is in a deep sleep before anything else happens, and the appointment is unhurried, usually around an hour. Cremation is arranged through a trusted North West partner, who collect directly from the home; private cremation returns the ashes within 48 hours. The number on this page is a direct Manchester line.

How it works.

Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.

1

Call or message

Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.

2

A vet visits your home

An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Manchester and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Where will my pet be cremated from Manchester?

Cremation is arranged through a trusted North West partner, so your pet stays in the local area. The cremation partner collects your pet directly from your home in Manchester after the appointment, and they return the ashes, usually within 48 hours. If you would prefer communal cremation, with no ashes returned, that option is available too. Either way, the choice is yours and we will explain everything before the visit.

Which areas around Manchester are covered for same-day visits?

Across the M1, M2, M3 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Manchester the same day, including Chorlton, Didsbury, Whalley Range and Levenshulme. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Manchester team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
