Nottingham is a city with a long memory, and many of the dogs we visit have walked the same routes for years, whether that is the loop around Wollaton Park past the deer herd or the Big Track along the Trent. By the time someone rings us about a final visit, an elderly pet in the car along Mansfield Road for a clinic appointment is rarely the right last thing.

Our vets cover the NG postcodes across the city and reach Mapperley, West Bridgford, Wollaton, Beeston and Carlton in same-day cover, with Long Eaton, Stapleford, Ruddington, Keyworth and Hucknall usually reachable without a surcharge. The villages towards Southwell or Eastwood are sometimes next-morning earliest. Sedation is given first, on a familiar blanket, and your pet drifts into a deep sleep before the final injection. The appointment is unhurried, usually around an hour. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Midlands partner, who collect directly from the home after the visit; private cremation returns the ashes within 48 hours. Travel is a flat £39 however far we travel, so there is never any extra mileage to work out.
These fees are for the at-home euthanasia appointment only and do not include cremation or aftercare. We can arrange cremation and aftercare for you if you wish, and we will provide a clear quote for those services before you book, so you know the full cost before confirming the appointment.

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.
Most visits across Nottingham and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.
Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.
Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.
Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.
We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.
Across the NG1, NG2, NG3 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Nottingham the same day, including West Bridgford, Sherwood, Wollaton and Mapperley. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
We work to whatever timescale suits the family rather than to a fixed arrival window. When you phone us, we usually have a vet confirmed for you within around twenty minutes, and then the visit is booked for the time you have asked for, whether that is later the same day, this evening, or a quieter morning slot. If you would like someone as soon as possible, say so on the call and we will tell you the earliest we can be there.
