Derby sits on the southern edge of the Peak District and the dogs we are asked to visit have usually walked the same patch for years: Markeaton Park for the Mackworth and Allestree families, Darley Park and the Derwent path for the streets around Little Chester and Chester Green, Alvaston Park for the homes in Boulton and Alvaston, Allestree Park and the woods for the older labradors of Allestree and Quarndon. Cats are usually long-resident garden cats in a Littleover semi or a Mickleover cul-de-sac. By the time we are called, a trip out along the A52 or down the A38 to a clinic is rarely the right last thing for them. We cover the DE postcodes across the city: Allestree, Mackworth, Mickleover, Littleover, Sunny Hill, Normanton, Pear Tree, Sinfin, Stenson Fields, Boulton, Alvaston, Spondon, Chaddesden, Oakwood, Breadsall and Darley Abbey. We will travel out to Mickleover, Findern, Etwall and Quarndon on the edge of the city without a surcharge. Our vets are RCVS-registered and the visit is unhurried. Sedation is used first so your pet is asleep before anything else. Children and other pets in the home are welcome to be present if that feels right; we will guide everyone through what to expect before anything happens. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Derbyshire crematorium, private or communal, with ashes returned within 48 hours. The number on this page is our central booking line, answered by a person who will arrange a vet for your home visit in Derby.
