Fair Care.

The quiet, careful goodbye your pet deserves.

Clinical care brings expertise, safety and solutions. At the end of a pet's life, what matters more is comfort, calm and dignity.

We come to you. In your home, on your sofa, in the garden, wherever your pet is most at peace. The whole visit happens at home, in your pet's own time.

Our promise to Glossop & Saddleworth families is simple: clear standards, honest pricing, and the time and space to say goodbye properly.

  • Clear standards, not vague promises

Every visit follows the same gentle process, delivered by an RCVS-qualified vet.

  • Known steps before, during and after

You know exactly what to expect at every stage, including aftercare and cremation.

  • Honest, transparent pricing

Real prices shown by pet size. No call-out charges and no surprises.

  • Time, space and calm, not pressure

We allow as long as your family needs. This is never rushed.

Covering SK13, OL3& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Glossop & Saddleworth and the surrounding area.

Glossop sits at the foot of the Snake Pass and the Saddleworth villages climb up into the moors above the Tame valley, two corners of the country that share a particular kind of weather and a particular kind of pet parent. Many of our families here have spent years walking up Bleaklow, around Dovestone Reservoir or down the Longdendale Trail with the same dog, and most families want the last appointment to happen on home ground. We cover Glossop, Hadfield, Padfield, Gamesley, Old Glossop, Tintwistle and Charlesworth, and across into the Saddleworth villages of Uppermill, Greenfield, Diggle, Delph, Dobcross and Denshaw. We will also travel out to Hayfield, Chinley and Marple Bridge if you are on that side of the hills. The vets are RCVS-registered and the visit is calm and unhurried; sedation comes first so your pet is asleep before the second injection. We can hold the appointment in the garden, a porch or a stone-flagged kitchen, wherever feels right for your pet. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Peak District provider, with private and communal options. Ashes are returned if requested, typically within 48 hours. The phone number on this page is the direct line for the Glossop and Saddleworth area; bookings are handled by a person, not a national queue.

How it works.

Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.

1

Call or message

Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.

2

A vet visits your home

An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Glossop & Saddleworth and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£60 each, or £89 combined). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Where will my pet be cremated from Glossop & Saddleworth?

Cremation is arranged through a trusted North West partner, so your pet stays in the local area. The cremation partner collects your pet directly from your home in Glossop & Saddleworth after the appointment, and they return the ashes, usually within 48 hours. If you would prefer communal cremation, with no ashes returned, that option is available too. Either way, the choice is yours and we will explain everything before the visit.

Do you cover Hadfield?

Yes, Hadfield sits within our Glossop & Saddleworth cover area and we visit there regularly. If you are right on the edge of where the Glossop & Saddleworth team reaches, please phone the local number first to confirm. Most postcodes around Glossop & Saddleworth are covered without a travel surcharge, and we will be straight with you if a different local team would actually get to you faster.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Glossop & Saddleworth team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
