Covering BB9, BB10, BB11, BB12& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Burnley & Nelson and the surrounding area.

Burnley and Nelson sit either side of the M65 in the shadow of Pendle Hill, with rows of millstone terraces and steep, narrow streets that have not changed shape much in a century. Many of the families we see here have had a succession of dogs or cats in the same house, and the idea of the last visit happening somewhere other than that house tends not to sit right. We cover Burnley town centre, Brunshaw, Burnley Wood, Lowerhouse and Padiham, and across the valley into Nelson, Brierfield, Barrowford and Colne. We will also travel out to the Pendle villages of Barley, Roughlee and Sabden, and down to Hapton and Worsthorne. RCVS-qualified vets handle every appointment, and we bring sedation so your pet is asleep and not anxious before anything else happens. Cremation is arranged through a Lancashire provider, with private or communal options and a clear, written cost. We work in living rooms, kitchens and gardens alike, and we will sit with you for as long as needed afterwards. If you want a paw print or a small clipping of fur to keep, we will do that gently before we leave. The phone number on this page is the direct line for the Burnley and Pendle area; you will speak to someone who handles bookings personally and knows the local geography.

We couldn't of wished for a better vet than Dr Jack during this difficult time. He was kind and patient, explaining everything to us. He didnt rush us and allowed us to go at our pace. We would highly recommend the pet euthanasia people. The Bradley Family

We were let down by our vet at the last minute and Jennie and her team stepped in and were amazing. Although it was a very distressing time everyone involved helped our precious Barney pass in comfort and with love. We are so grateful x

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Burnley & Nelson and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£60 each, or £89 combined). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Which areas around Burnley & Nelson are covered for same-day visits?

Across the BB9, BB10, BB11 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Burnley & Nelson the same day, including Brunshaw, Burnley Wood, Padiham and Nelson. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Do you cover Brunshaw?

Yes, Brunshaw sits within our Burnley & Nelson cover area and we visit there regularly. If you are right on the edge of where the Burnley & Nelson team reaches, please phone the local number first to confirm. Most postcodes around Burnley & Nelson are covered without a travel surcharge, and we will be straight with you if a different local team would actually get to you faster.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Burnley & Nelson team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
