Not sure if we cover your village? Phone the local number and we will let you know.

The Fylde coast has a particular kind of family home, often a long, low bungalow on a quiet street running parallel to the sea, with a dog or cat that has spent years walking the prom or the dunes at St Annes. When the time comes, families here often want the appointment to happen with the curtains drawn and the sea wind outside, on a familiar bed or favourite chair. We cover Blackpool from South Shore and Marton through the town centre, North Shore and Bispham, then north along the A584 to Cleveleys, Thornton and Fleetwood. We will also drive out across the Wyre to Knott End and along to Poulton if you are in the broader area. Our vets are RCVS-qualified and most appointments are unhurried, around an hour from arrival to leaving. We can arrange a paw print or fur clipping as a keepsake if you would like one. Cremation is handled through a local Lancashire provider, with private and communal options and ashes returned. We will keep our local number on the line until the appointment is over, so you can phone us if anything changes. We know the FY postcodes well and a typical drive across the borough is short, which means we can usually offer a same-day or next-day slot.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Blackpool & Fleetwood and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Which areas around Blackpool & Fleetwood are covered for same-day visits?

Across the FY1, FY2, FY3 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Blackpool & Fleetwood the same day, including South Shore, Marton, Bispham and Cleveleys. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

How long does a vet from your team take to get to Blackpool & Fleetwood?

We work to whatever timescale suits the family rather than to a fixed arrival window. When you phone us, we usually have a vet confirmed for you within around twenty minutes, and then the visit is booked for the time you have asked for, whether that is later the same day, this evening, or a quieter morning slot. If you would like someone as soon as possible, say so on the call and we will tell you the earliest we can be there.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Blackpool & Fleetwood team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
