Covering SW8, SW11, SW12, SW15, SW17, SW18& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Wandsworth and the surrounding area.

Wandsworth runs from the Thames at Battersea down through Clapham Junction and out toward the open spaces at Wandsworth Common and Tooting Bec, and the homes we visit are mostly Victorian: tall terraces in the Northcote Road area, four-storey houses off Bellevue Road, garden flats in Earlsfield, mansion blocks above Putney High Street, and the steeper streets climbing up toward Wandsworth Town Hall. The dogs we are asked to see have often walked Wandsworth Common, Tooting Bec Common, Putney Heath, Wandsworth Park along the Thames, Battersea Park or the river towpath out toward Barnes for years. The cats here are usually long-resident in a single back room of a Tooting flat or a garden cat in a Balham semi. By the time families ring, getting a frail pet down a long flight of stairs and into a taxi on a busy stretch of the South Circular is more than most families want to put the pet through. We cover the borough end to end, including Battersea, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Town, Balham, Tooting, Tooting Bec, Earlsfield, Southfields, Putney, Roehampton and Nine Elms. Our vets are RCVS-registered. Sedation is used first so your pet is asleep before anything else, and the visit is unhurried. Cremation is arranged through a London partner. The number on this page is the London line, answered by a person who books our local vets for Wandsworth home visits.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Wandsworth and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Which areas around Wandsworth are covered for same-day visits?

Across the SW8, SW11, SW12 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Wandsworth the same day, including Battersea, Clapham Junction, Balham and Tooting. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Will the vet visiting Wandsworth have done this before?

Yes, every vet visiting Wandsworth is RCVS-qualified and trained for at-home euthanasia, the same gentle process every time. The same gentle process is followed on every visit: introductions and time to settle, a sedative first so your pet drifts into a deep sleep, and only then the final injection. We never rush, and we will explain each step quietly as we go.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Wandsworth team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
