Covering E5, E8, E9, N1, N16& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Hackney and the surrounding area.

Hackney is a borough of small flats, tight terraces and converted warehouses, and the homes we visit reflect the full mix: a sitting-room cat in a Stoke Newington garden flat off Church Street, a long-resident terrier in a London Fields conversion, an older spaniel in a top-floor flat above a shop on Mare Street. The dogs we are asked to see have often walked London Fields, Hackney Marshes, Clissold Park or the Lea towpath past Springfield Park every morning for ten years. The cats here are usually long-settled in a single back room or on a windowsill above the canal. By the time families ring, the prospect of carrying a frail pet down four flights of stairs onto a busy pavement for a clinic visit is more than most families want to put the pet through. We cover the borough end to end, including Stoke Newington, Dalston, London Fields, Hackney Central, Homerton, Clapton, Lower Clapton, Stamford Hill, De Beauvoir, Hoxton, Shoreditch and Hackney Wick. Our vets are RCVS-registered and used to working in walk-up flats, mansion blocks, garden flats and warehouse conversions alike. Sedation comes first so your pet is asleep before anything else, and the visit is unhurried. Stairs and entryphones are normal for us. Cremation is arranged through a London partner, with private and communal options. The number on this page is the London line, answered by a person who books our local vets for Hackney home visits.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Hackney and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Where will my pet be cremated from Hackney?

Cremation is handled through a trusted partner working across Greater London, so your pet stays in the local area. The cremation partner collects your pet directly from your home in Hackney after the appointment, and they return the ashes, usually within 48 hours. If you would prefer communal cremation, with no ashes returned, that option is available too. Either way, the choice is yours and we will explain everything before the visit.

Do you cover Stoke Newington?

Yes, Stoke Newington sits within our Hackney cover area and we visit there regularly. If you are right on the edge of where the Hackney team reaches, please phone the local number first to confirm. Most postcodes around Hackney are covered without a travel surcharge, and we will be straight with you if a different local team would actually get to you faster.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Hackney team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
