Lewisham runs from the Thames at Deptford down through the conservation streets of Brockley and Hither Green and out toward the higher ground of Forest Hill and Sydenham. The homes we visit are mostly Victorian: tall terraces with shared front gardens in Telegraph Hill, three-storey houses in Brockley, the steeper streets behind the Horniman Museum, and the cottage-style estates in Bellingham and Downham. The dogs we are asked to see have often walked Hilly Fields, Ladywell Fields, Telegraph Hill Park, Mountsfield Park or the woods at One Tree Hill for years. The cats here are usually long-resident on a sitting-room sofa in a Catford maisonette or a Sydenham garden flat. By the time families ring, the idea of getting a frail pet into the car along the South Circular for a clinic visit is rarely the right thing. We cover the borough across the SE postcodes, including Deptford, New Cross, Brockley, Lewisham, Ladywell, Catford, Hither Green, Lee, Blackheath, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Bellingham and Downham. Our vets are RCVS-registered and used to working in mansion blocks, top-floor conversions and ex-local houses alike. Sedation is used first so your pet is asleep before anything else, and the visit is unhurried. Cremation is arranged through a London partner, with private and communal options. The number on this page is the London line, answered by a person who books our local vets for Lewisham home visits.

Speak to the Lewisham team
020 3319 13558am to 8pm, seven days a week. A calm, experienced team member picks up.
Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.
Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.
An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.
If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.
Honest, transparent pricing
Fair care means fair pricing. Here is exactly what a home visit costs in Lewisham. Out-of-hours covers evenings, nights and early mornings, and any time at weekends or on bank holidays. Only one of these is ever added.
Travel is £25 for the first 15 miles, then £1.60 per mile after that. Any additional mileage is confirmed clearly before you book.
These fees are for the at-home euthanasia appointment only and do not include cremation or aftercare. We can arrange cremation and aftercare for you if you wish, and we will provide a clear quote for those services before you book, so you know the full cost before confirming the appointment.

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.
Most visits across Lewisham and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.
Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.
Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£60 each, or £89 combined). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.
Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.
We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.
Across the SE4, SE6, SE8 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Lewisham the same day, including Brockley, Hither Green, Catford and Forest Hill. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
We work to whatever timescale suits the family rather than to a fixed arrival window. When you phone us, we usually have a vet confirmed for you within around twenty minutes, and then the visit is booked for the time you have asked for, whether that is later the same day, this evening, or a quieter morning slot. If you would like someone as soon as possible, say so on the call and we will tell you the earliest we can be there.
