Fair Care.

The quiet, careful goodbye your pet deserves.

Clinical care brings expertise, safety and solutions. At the end of a pet's life, what matters more is comfort, calm and dignity.

We come to you. In your home, on your sofa, in the garden, wherever your pet is most at peace. The whole visit happens at home, in your pet's own time.

Our promise to Canterbury families is simple: clear standards, honest pricing, and the time and space to say goodbye properly.

  • Clear standards, not vague promises

Every visit follows the same gentle process, delivered by an RCVS-qualified vet.

  • Known steps before, during and after

You know exactly what to expect at every stage, including aftercare and cremation.

  • Honest, transparent pricing

Real prices shown by pet size. No call-out charges and no surprises.

  • Time, space and calm, not pressure

We allow as long as your family needs. This is never rushed.

Covering CT1, CT2, CT3, CT4& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Canterbury and the surrounding area.

Canterbury is a small cathedral city ringed by villages and the homes we visit here have a quiet, settled feel: Tudor cottages on Palace Street, Victorian terraces in Wincheap and St Dunstan's, post-war semis out toward Hales Place and Thanington, and farmhouses tucked into the lanes between Bridge and Petham. The dogs we see have often walked the water meadows along the Stour, the woods at Blean, or the North Downs Way up toward Patrixbourne for years; the cats are usually long-resident garden cats in St Stephen's or down the lanes off Old Dover Road. By the time families ring, the prospect of driving a frail pet into the city ring road for a clinic appointment is rarely what they want for the last visit. We cover Canterbury itself across CT1 to CT4, including Wincheap, St Stephen's, Hales Place, Thanington, Rough Common and Sturry, and we travel out to Bridge, Chartham, Littlebourne, Patrixbourne, Bekesbourne, Petham, Chilham and Fordwich. Our vets are RCVS-registered. Sedation is used first so your pet is asleep before anything else happens, and the appointment is unhurried, around an hour at the home. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Kent provider, private or communal, with ashes returned. The number on this page is the Kent line, answered by a person who books our local vets for Canterbury home visits.

How it works.

Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.

Call or message

Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.

2

A vet visits your home

An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Canterbury and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

How long does a vet from your team take to get to Canterbury?

We work to whatever timescale suits the family rather than to a fixed arrival window. When you phone us, we usually have a vet confirmed for you within around twenty minutes, and then the visit is booked for the time you have asked for, whether that is later the same day, this evening, or a quieter morning slot. If you would like someone as soon as possible, say so on the call and we will tell you the earliest we can be there.

Will the vet visiting Canterbury have done this before?

Yes, every vet visiting Canterbury is RCVS-qualified and trained for at-home euthanasia, the same gentle process every time. The same gentle process is followed on every visit: introductions and time to settle, a sedative first so your pet drifts into a deep sleep, and only then the final injection. We never rush, and we will explain each step quietly as we go.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Canterbury team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
