Covering BN1, BN2, BN41, BN42, BN43, BN44, BN45& surrounding postcodes

Local to you, across Brighton and the surrounding area.

Brighton is a city of small flats above shops, tall terraces facing the sea, and quieter streets climbing up toward the Downs. The pets we are asked to see reflect that: a cat who has lived above the lanes of the North Laine for most of its life, a labrador who has walked Stanmer Park or Preston Park every morning for ten years, a terrier in Kemptown that knows the pavements between St James's Street and Queen's Park better than anyone. The last appointment, for almost every family we speak to, should happen where your pet is most settled. We cover Brighton itself across BN1 and BN2, including Kemptown, North Laine, Hanover, Round Hill, Preston Village, Patcham, Withdean, Hollingbury, Coldean and Moulsecoomb, and we travel out to Portslade, Southwick, Shoreham-by-Sea and the villages on the edge of the Downs at Pyecombe and Poynings. Our vets are RCVS-registered. Sedation comes first so your pet drifts off before anything else, and the visit is unhurried. We are used to working in small first-floor flats, garden flats, top-floor maisonettes and parking-tight streets; we will agree the practicalities on the booking call. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Sussex partner, with private or communal options. The number on this page is the Sussex line, answered by a person who books our local vets for Brighton home visits.

How it works.

Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.

1

Call or message

Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.

2

A vet visits your home

An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Brighton and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Which areas around Brighton are covered for same-day visits?

Across the BN1, BN2, BN41 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Brighton the same day, including North Laine, Kemptown, Hanover and Preston Village. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Do you cover North Laine?

Yes, North Laine sits within our Brighton cover area and we visit there regularly. If you are right on the edge of where the Brighton team reaches, please phone the local number first to confirm. Most postcodes around Brighton are covered without a travel surcharge, and we will be straight with you if a different local team would actually get to you faster.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Brighton team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
