Local to you, across Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area.
Stoke-on-Trent is a city of six towns stitched together by the A50 and a long history of pot banks and terraced streets, and the dogs we visit have usually walked the same routes for years: Hanley Park for the homes around Hanley, Shelton and Cobridge, Burslem Park for the streets in Burslem and Middleport, Tunstall Park for the families in Tunstall and Goldenhill, Longton Park for the older retrievers of Longton and Meir, Westport Lake for the dogs at Tunstall and Longport, Trentham Gardens and the Trent towpath for the spaniels and labradors of Trentham and Hanford. The greenway along the Caldon Canal is a favourite for older dogs we see in Milton and Sneyd Green. Cats are usually long-resident garden cats in a Penkhull terrace, a Stoke-Trent semi or a Bentilee back yard. By the time someone rings us, putting an elderly pet into the car up the A500 or out onto the M6 for a clinic is rarely the right last thing. We cover the ST1 to ST6 postcodes across the city: Hanley, Etruria, Shelton, Cobridge, Burslem, Middleport, Longport, Tunstall, Goldenhill, Smallthorne, Sneyd Green, Bucknall, Bentilee, Abbey Hulton, Milton, Stoke, Penkhull, Hartshill, Hanford, Trentham, Blurton, Longton, Meir, Fenton and Normacot. Our vets are RCVS-registered and the visit is unhurried. Sedation is used first. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Midlands crematorium. The number on this page is our central booking line, answered by a person who will arrange a vet for your home visit in Stoke-on-Trent.

Common questions.
How do I know it is time?+
One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.
How quickly can you come?+
Most visits across Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.
What happens during the visit?+
Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.
Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?+
Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.
Can my children or other pets be there?+
Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.
What about cremation and aftercare?+
We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.
Where will my pet be cremated from Stoke-on-Trent?+
Cremation is arranged through a trusted Midlands partner, so your pet stays in the local area. The cremation partner collects your pet directly from your home in Stoke-on-Trent after the appointment, and they return the ashes, usually within 48 hours. If you would prefer communal cremation, with no ashes returned, that option is available too. Either way, the choice is yours and we will explain everything before the visit.
Which areas around Stoke-on-Trent are covered for same-day visits?+
Across the ST1, ST2, ST3 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Stoke-on-Trent the same day, including Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall and Longton. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
