Local to you, across Liverpool and the surrounding area.

Liverpool keeps its neighbourhood identities even as the centre keeps changing, and many of the dogs we visit have walked the avenues around Sefton Park or the Otterspool promenade for most of their lives. By the time the conversation turns to a final visit, most families would rather it happened at home, on a familiar bed or blanket, in the room their dog has always settled in.

What a visit looks like in Liverpool

  • RCVS-qualified vet at your door, often the same morning
  • Sedation first on a familiar bed or blanket; final injection only when your pet is in a deep sleep
  • Cremation arranged with a trusted local partner who collect directly from your home
  • Ashes returned within 48 hours if you choose private cremation

Our vets cover the city across the L postcodes and reach the suburbs out to Crosby in the north and Halewood in the south-east, with the Wirral handled through a partner team when that is closer. Sedation is given first, on a familiar bed or blanket, so your pet is in a deep sleep before anything else happens, and the appointment is unhurried, usually around an hour. Cremation is arranged through a trusted North West partner, who collect directly from the home after the visit; private cremation returns the ashes within 48 hours. The number on this page is our national line, answered seven days a week by the team who book our Liverpool home visits.

How it works.

Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.

1

Call or message

Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.

2

A vet visits your home

An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Liverpool and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

How long does a vet from your team take to get to Liverpool?

We work to whatever timescale suits the family rather than to a fixed arrival window. When you phone us, we usually have a vet confirmed for you within around twenty minutes, and then the visit is booked for the time you have asked for, whether that is later the same day, this evening, or a quieter morning slot. If you would like someone as soon as possible, say so on the call and we will tell you the earliest we can be there.

Do you cover Anfield?

Yes, Anfield sits within our Liverpool cover area and we visit there regularly. If you are right on the edge of where the Liverpool team reaches, please phone the local number first to confirm. Most postcodes around Liverpool are covered without a travel surcharge, and we will be straight with you if a different local team would actually get to you faster.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Liverpool team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
