Local to you, across Glasgow and the surrounding area.

Glasgow holds on to its neighbourhood character even as the centre keeps changing, and many of the dogs we visit have walked the same patch for years, whether that is the Kelvin Walkway up past the Botanic Gardens or the long loop around Pollok Country Park. By the time someone rings us about a final visit, an elderly pet in a car for a clinic appointment is rarely the right last thing.

What a visit looks like in Glasgow

  • RCVS-qualified vet at your door, often the same morning
  • Sedation first on a familiar bed or blanket; final injection only when your pet is in a deep sleep
  • Cremation arranged with a trusted local partner who collect directly from your home
  • Ashes returned within 48 hours if you choose private cremation

Our vets cover the G postcodes across the city and reach the West End and the Southside in same-day cover, with Bearsden and Bishopbriggs to the north, Clydebank to the west, and the East Renfrewshire suburbs to the south usually reachable too. Paisley and Renfrew sit within reach. Sedation is given first, on a familiar bed or blanket, and your pet is in a deep sleep before the final injection. The appointment is unhurried, usually around an hour. Cremation is arranged through a trusted Scottish partner who collect directly from the home; private cremation returns the ashes within 48 hours. The number on this page is a direct local Glasgow line.

How it works.

Three steps. We handle everything around the clinical care so your family can focus on being there.

1

Call or message

Speak to a calm, experienced team member on the local number, or message on WhatsApp. We help you plan timing and answer any questions before anything is booked.

2

A vet visits your home

An RCVS-qualified vet arrives at the agreed time, explains gently what will happen, gives a sedative first, and takes as long as your family needs.

3

We handle the aftercare

If you have chosen cremation, we co-ordinate everything with a trusted partner. Ashes returned, or communal cremation if you prefer.

“I could not recommend Jennie & Dr Jack for the compassionate care they provided during one of the most difficult moments when we had to say goodbye to our beloved house cat, Pickles. The kindness, sensitivity and professionalism shown by all the staff made a huge difference.…”

Common questions.

How do I know it is time?

One of the hardest questions any family faces. Our free Quality of Life Assessment walks you through the signs vets look for, mobility, appetite, comfort, interest in surroundings. You are also welcome to phone and talk it through. There is no pressure either way.

How quickly can you come?

Most visits across Glasgow and the surrounding area are booked same-day, often within a couple of hours. Pre-planned visits for a specific day and time are also available. For urgent, out-of-hours situations the local number is answered from 8am to 8pm.

What happens during the visit?

Your vet arrives, introduces themselves quietly, and takes a few minutes to explain what will happen. They give your pet a gentle sedative first, so they become relaxed and sleepy, usually resting in your arms or on their bed. Only then is the final injection given, and your pet slips away peacefully. We never rush this.

Does it cost more for evenings or weekends?

Out-of-hours and same-day visits carry a small surcharge (£70 each, or £89 combined, and £100 overnight). The visit fee itself is the same regardless of day or time.

Can my children or other pets be there?

Yes, if you would like. Many families find it helpful to say goodbye together. We take your lead on who is present and make sure everyone feels comfortable, including other pets in the household.

What about cremation and aftercare?

We co-ordinate everything. You can choose individual cremation (ashes returned to you), communal cremation (no ashes returned), or home burial if that is what you prefer. No pressure, just the options explained clearly.

Which areas around Glasgow are covered for same-day visits?

Across the G1, G2, G3 postcodes we can usually reach a home in Glasgow the same day, including Hillhead, Partick, Shawlands and Dennistoun. Rural fringes and outlying areas may be next-morning earliest if the call comes in late in the day, but we will tell you straight away when we phone back. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Will the vet visiting Glasgow have done this before?

Yes, every vet visiting Glasgow is RCVS-qualified and trained for at-home euthanasia, the same gentle process every time. The same gentle process is followed on every visit: introductions and time to settle, a sedative first so your pet drifts into a deep sleep, and only then the final injection. We never rush, and we will explain each step quietly as we go.

How things end matters.

We are here whenever you are ready.

Whether you need us today or you would like to plan ahead, the Glasgow team is here to listen. No pressure, just a calm conversation about what is best for your pet.
