Everything Taken Care Of

Health insurance, dental care, pensions - these are baseline benefits that every company invested in its people are offering. But employees are five times more likely to stay with a company when they feel their benefits are tailored and personal to them.

74% of people think employers should have a policy in place to help employees going through pet bereavement

You likely already have employee benefits aimed at people with children - from paternity and maternity leave to flexible family hours. But with 99% of pet owners seeing their pets as part of their family, is your diverse workforce feeling equally supported?

Show your people you care, at no cost to you

When someone has to say goodbye to their pet, it’s an incredibly distressing and sometimes lonely experience. But we know having the support of others and the option to do it in the safety and comfort of home makes an enormous difference.

Vets at Home offer at-home euthanasia and aftercare for people when they need support the most. And best of all, you can offer this benefit to your people at zero cost.

We’ll give your employees 10% discount on our services via a unique discount code issued exclusively to your company. So you can show your people you care without giving your finance team cause for concern.

Fewer than 1 in 10 people say they felt their grief after pet loss was taken seriously - you can be in the 10% that know it matters.

Does this really matter?

Yes! 51% of UK adults own a pet so this applies to at least half of your workforce. Yet almost half of employees admit to suffering in silence and not telling their employer when their pet’s passed away.

Replacing an employee costs significantly more than keeping them. But looking after your people doesn’t need to cost the earth.

When you look after your people, they reward YOU for it

The benefits you offer your employees don’t just look good on paper, they represent your company culture. And when it comes to grief and loss, being brave and compassionate enough to face it head on is incredibly valuable.

Maybe you can go the full distance and offer pet loss bereavement leave, or perhaps that’s out of reach right now.

But offering something for your employees facing loss shows your people you recognise the impact and are willing to do what you can to support them.

Loss extends beyond the employee affected

Unplanned absences don’t just affect productivity, they affect morale. The team mate who has to take on extra work, the tasks that get missed, and the pressure your people feel when returning all have a bigger impact than a day out of the office.

But a supported employee returns to work faster and more focused.

Our aftercare includes grief support and practical arrangements, which allows people to process their grief and return to normal life more quickly. It also means you have a trusted team to direct your staff to when they need support with their grief.

How things end matters - we’re there for your people

What we offer

Our team of RCVS qualified vets offer a patient and compassionate service and cover most of the UK. Our customers tell us their gentle and caring manner helped greatly at a time of such sadness and sorrow.

Our care team usually responds within minutes between 8am and 8pm - and will respond first thing in the morning outside of these hours. In almost all cases we can arrange a same day or next day appointment.

“To have Luna have her last moments in the comfort of her own home was what we wanted and to have someone else arrange the vet and cremation was much needed in this time of sadness.”
Kellie

We’re here for people through every stage of the grief journey

Long before the decision to say goodbye, people are often grappling alone with the decision. Nearly three quarters of pet owners experience anticipatory grief - the anxiety and sadness that comes long before they actually face physical loss.

We have a number of free resources to support people with both the decision making, the anticipatory grief, and what comes afterwards.

Our work is not only about the final appointment. It is about the conversations that come before it, the reassurance people need while making the decision, the support around aftercare, and the quiet understanding that this is not ‘just a pet’. It is family, routine, history, love, and loss.

We’re here to support your people compassionately through every stage.

FAQs

What does it cost your company?

Nothing. There are no set-up fees, no admin costs and no ongoing commitment. We handle everything - including providing all the internal communications you need to let your team know the benefit exists.

What does it cost employees?

Your team members receive a 10% discount on our at-home euthanasia appointments via a unique discount code issued exclusively to your company. Please note this discount doesn’t apply to the optional cremation services delivered by our partners.

Our euthanasia pricing is the same across the UK - you can find the full price list on your local area page. Cremation costs vary by location and partner provider.

Your employees will always be given the full cost before booking an appointment so they know exactly what to expect before proceeding with their booking.

Which pets does it cover?

We provide services for all domestic pets - from rabbits through to Great Danes. All companion animals are part of the family and deserve a goodbye that acknowledges how loved they are. If you have an exotic or unusual pet, get in touch and we’ll tell you if we can help.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the mainland of the UK. Your team members can check availability in their area by visiting our locations page or contacting our team directly. In almost all cases we can arrange a same day or next day appointment.

How does the employee actually access the benefit?

Once you're signed up, we'll provide a unique discount code and booking link for your company. We'll also give you everything you need to communicate the benefit to your team - ready-made copy for your intranet, newsletter or noticeboard. When an employee needs us, they simply use the code or link and we take it from there. They don't need to involve HR or explain themselves to anyone.

Do we have to do anything when an employee needs support?

No. Once the benefit is set up, your role is done. Employees contact us directly - we handle the booking, the appointment and the aftercare. The only thing you may want to do is acknowledge the loss with kindness, as you would any bereavement. We can share guidance on how to do that sensitively if it would help.

What if we have employees who don't have pets - is this fair?

This is a valid question and it's the same one that gets asked about parental leave, fertility support or any benefit that doesn't apply to everyone.

Benefits that reflect the reality of people's lives - rather than a one-size-fits-all package - are what make employees feel genuinely seen. Not every employee will need this, but for those who do, it will matter more than almost anything else you offer.

We are happy for your staff to extend this discount to their friends and family to make it feel truly inclusive.

Can employees use this before end of life, for terminal diagnosis or anticipatory grief support?

Yes - and we'd encourage it. Long before the decision to say goodbye, many people are quietly struggling with anticipatory grief and the weight of knowing what's coming. Our free quality of life assessment calls offer gentle, experienced support to help employees work through the decision at their own pace, with no pressure. The discount code also applies to these conversations. We're here from the beginning of the journey, not just at the end.
